This stream will discuss interdisciplinarity in current socio-legal research and education and possible forms of its future organization and development. Expanding on recent interdisciplinary conferences and workshops organised by Cardiff University's Centre of Law and Society and its collaboration with the Onati International Institute for the Sociology of Law, this stream is open to academics from various disciplines and career stages and will focus on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary studies of law and their specific sociological and socio-legal context, methodology and pedagogy.


Papers may address, but are not limited to, the following themes: 

  • Wales in the post-Brexit UK and EU

  • courts as agents in the transnational rule of law

  • judicial professions and values

  • justice and emotions

  • law and gender

  • law and social justice

  • law and temporality

  • socio-legal theory

  • socio-legal education
